Visiting doctoral student is a designation attributed to doctoral students from foreign institutions undergoing a period of stay at the Centre for Social Studies, with the aim of developing supervised research activities in accordance with a previously approved work plan by the CES Scientific Board. Preferably, this stay should last between 6 and 12 months, although, when duly justified, shorter periods of no less than 3 months may be considered on an exceptional basis.
The application for doctoral internship scientific hosting, comprised of motivation letter, statement of acceptance of the CES researcher who will supervise the stay, CV, letter of support from the home institution supervisor, work plan and chronogram, must be submitted to ces@ces.uc.pt. The results will be communicated within a period of no more than 30 days.
All presentations, publications or materials for the dissemination of scientific activities resulting from the doctoral stay must mention having benefitted from the received guidance, with a clear reference to the supervisor and to the research conducted during the stay at the Centre for Social Studies, University of Coimbra.
