Alda Portugal


Biography

She obtained a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology in 2008 at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra (FPCE-UC). In the same year, she started her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the Universities of Coimbra and Lisbon (FPCE-UC in association with FP-UL). In 2014, a year after completing her PhD, she started a Post-Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Center for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (CES-UC). While completing her academic trajectory she taught at three higher education institutions, which of one was international (FPCEUC, Instituto Superior Miguel Torga [ISMT], and Instituto Superior Politécnico de Tundavala [ISPT]). She is currently Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Madeira (FAH-UMa) and collaborator researcher at CES-UC. She has papers published in specialized journals, some of which are the result of a collaboration with international research projects. In addition to the pedagogical and research component, she has a great interest in clinical practice, having carried out psychological assessments and interventions alongside her teaching and research activities. She is also Family and Couple Therapist (by the Portuguese Society of Family Therapy) and member of Portuguese Psychological Association.
